Why are we having a STEM demo like this?

  • So that the students get “warmed up” for the science fairs that happen in higher classes

  • They get used to explaining what they have understood to a varied audience

  • They get the feel of a formal presentation

  • They get a feel of teamwork and project work

  • You get a peep into the HANDS ON class and how they learn STEM concepts in school!

Now, addressing the standard anticipated questions

  • Can the reporting time be changed to another slot?
Nope. The students are grouped into teams and have been practising accordingly.

  • My child cannot come on that Saturday. Can we come on a different day?
Nope. But do note these opportunities are hard to come by and have to be specially created and benefit the kids immensely. So we hope whatever you are missing this for is worth it!

  • If I reach late, is it a problem?
Yes. The group that your child is in will not be disturbed once they take their positions. So latecomers cannot participate.

  • How long will my child actually be demonstrating in this group?
Presentations are a group activity. Each group of 4 to 5 students will have about 3 to 5 minutes of presentation.

  • Why only 2 adults per child? Can we bring along some relatives also to watch our children perform?
Not for this demo, sorry! We have made special arrangements so each parent is able to view their child’s presentation properly. So we can only allow 2 adults per child for this event.

  • Can we take photos / videos?
कोई शक? Of course you can. Memories! Let’s make as many as we can!

  • What if my child does not perform in the demo on that day?
They will. Their teachers are there to motivate them to do at least a little bit in front of the crowd. And you all will be there to encourage them too. For a child who feels stage fright, this is an excellent opportunity to take the first baby step towards public speaking and presenting. Let’s make it happen.

  • Is this a competition?
No. This is a demonstration. We will be giving out participation certificates to all the students who are present.
