Offline PTMs
These are held once a quarter on a Saturday morning which is marked in the calendar. Parents can come and speak with the teacher that they wish. The location of where different teachers are available is shared with the parents the day before.
How can I meet a certain teacher apart from the PTM time?
Please note that we do not have on-demand appointments with individual teachers. To ensure that our teachers can devote their time to their students, we ask that you follow the PTM schedule that allows you to interact with each subject teacher. Additionally, you can always email your specific concern or question to us. It will definitely be looked into and addressed.
How to get the most out of these meetings
- Arrive early, to reduce the waiting time and increase the probability of actually having a meeting.
- Catch the core subject teachers in the online PTMs. Those are also small groups of 10 of which hardly 4 or 5 attend anyway. And definitely less stressful (no need to get ready at home, travel, park, wait in line and then do all of that in reverse!)
- Pick the teachers that you REALLY REALLY need to meet. Most queries can be resolved on email and again, that happens asynchronously, so it's much easier. If there is a problem in any subject or in any other aspect, the teachers do reach out to the parents anyway (out of schedule of PTMs).
- Keep your questions specific to the subject of the teacher that you are talking to. If you ask admin / philosophical questions, you are going to be asked to connect with the management.
- Show the ID card so that the teacher can quickly identify whose parent you are.
- Try to be to the point. Keep your question short so your exchange can be wrapped up in a minute or two. Other parents are also waiting their turn. If a conversation with a parent goes on for too long, the teacher will have to move to the next parent anyway.
- Be ready to listen to the teacher's responses when you ask questions. Do not dismiss their replies or be in denial or start arguments. Try to understand what they are trying to tell you and see how it can be taken positively to improve the child. That is the goal. We all are one team, and always aligned to one goal - that of improving our students in whatever way possible.
- Do not form groups and gang up on the teacher. They will not be having conversations with parents who create uncomfortable situations.
