Revise Quizzes
We believe in continuous evaluation, and that students must get used to frequent testing from the early years itself. We have a great quizzing platform which is made available to our students for this, called Walmiki. There are lacs of high quality questions in the database, which we expect students to take advantage of.
Students are supposed to take these quizzes after the lessons are done in school. We will be assigning those in the daily academic updates section of WalSH and Walmiki too.
These will be considered as a part of Formative Assessment.
Quizzes marked REVISE – (chapter name) on Walmiki are used for practice as well as formative assessment for each unit.
Students can attempt these quizzes multiple times. Each attempt generates different questions from the question bank, so students can practise repeatedly and strengthen their understanding.
For assessment purposes, the highest score obtained across all attempts before the cut-off date will be considered.
Example: If a student attempts the quiz several times and scores 3/5, 4/5, 5/5, 2/5, the score recorded will be 5/5.
Even if a student attempts the quiz again after scoring full marks, the highest score among all attempts will continue to be considered.
There will not be a separate test conducted on exam day for this component. The marks will be calculated from the Revise quizzes attempted during the unit.
Cut-off Date
Each unit will have a cut-off date, which will be the last day of the practice tests for that unit.
- Only quiz attempts made up to this cut-off date will be considered for the formative assessment.
- Attempts made after the cut-off date will not be counted, even if the student scores higher in those attempts.
Students are therefore encouraged to practise the Revise quizzes regularly and improve their score before the cut-off date.
Recommended Way to Use Revise Quizzes
A good approach is:
- Attempt the Revise quiz after completing the chapter.
- Review mistakes and attempt the quiz again.
- Continue attempting the quiz until you reach full marks.
- Even after scoring full marks, students may continue attempting the quiz for additional practice.
This helps students prepare for the unit tests gradually and in a low-stress manner, instead of studying everything at the last moment.
How to Check Pending Revise Quizzes
Log in to your Walmiki Portal.
- Click on "See All" next to Live Quizzes (all the way to the right if you are on a computer).
- Select the Unit from the drop-down.
- Select the Subject you want to check.
- In Chapters, select a specific chapter or choose ALL for all chapters in that unit.
- In Exam Type, select Revise. In Status, select NOT ATTEMPTED.
This will show the quizzes that have not been attempted even once.
Students can click any tile to start the quiz.
Even if a quiz has already been attempted, it can still be attempted again for additional practice and score improvement until the unit cut-off date.
