ID card is VERY important
Students without ID cards are not allowed to attend school. The student is asked to wait in the office and the parent is called to come and deliver the ID card or to take the child home.
Another copy of the ID card is expected to be attached to the tiffin. If a student shows up at school without the ID card, this one can be used as a spare to be worn that day as a temporary arrangement. Students without the ID card cannot be a part of the school routine on that day. If there is no ID card, those children are accommodated in the student lounge till the parents bring the ID card to the school office. After that, the child can be sent in with the rest of their class.
We request parents to please follow this protocol which is for smooth functioning of the school and for the safety of all the students and also please do not argue with the school staff about this.
If you are using school organized transport, the bus driver / maushi is expected to not let the student board the vehicle without the ID card. If the student comes to school anyway, the office staff will have them wait in the office and the transport staff will contact the parents to ask to deliver the ID.
This is not a punishment for the parents or the students. This is for safety. If there is any emergency or problem, then having the ID card on the student becomes very important. We have had emergencies where having the ID card on the student made a huge difference in the way it could be handled. Allowing them in the routine without it is too big a risk to take as we are not sure when an emergency of that nature could arise.
