Bridge course for new students
At Walnut, our advanced academic curriculum ensures that students stay ahead in their learning. To help new students transition smoothly, we offer a Bridge Course in the second half of April. This live online program covers key concepts that students may have missed, ensuring they are well-prepared to integrate seamlessly into their new class. The course includes two Math sessions and 2 Marathi sessions each morning, designed to strengthen their foundation and boost confidence before the academic year begins in full flow.
At Walnut, because of advanced academics, we start teaching the next standard’s textbooks in the last one or two units each year. So when you join in a certain standard, you may have missed some concepts that were already taught to Walnut students in the earlier year. We help introduce them, and then students can make good use of the rest of the summer break to go over them in detail.
We share the learning material for the lessons in digital format as they happen. Students and parents can access them through the WalSH app over the summer under the subject “Bridge Course”.
The teachers obviously cannot teach 12 to 14 weeks of material in 5 days. But this gets students a little familiar, and then they can go through it at leisure.
For 2025 - 26, the bridge course is from 15 April to 19 April 2025. The links for these are sent by email directly to the student's Walnut email.
Session timings:
- Math: Session 1 – 8:00 am to 9:00 am
- Math: Session 2 – 9:15 am to 10:15 am
- Marathi: Session 3 – 10:30 am to 11:30 am
- Marathi: Session 4 – 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm
The Marathi bridge course is for students who have very little idea or connect with Marathi as a subject. It is not for students who have done Marathi in school in the academic year 2024–25. For students who are quite unfamiliar with Marathi, it may be good for the adult who is going to guide them later to attend with them.
