Current registration

The current Stream 1, Block I deadline is : 30 September 2026

Age requirement

For this block, the student must be at least 14 years old on 31 August 2026.

This means the student must have been born on or before : 31 August 2012.

First exam if registered now

A student registered in this block becomes first eligible for the : April/May 2027 public exam

After that first public-exam cycle has passed, ODE can be used for eligible subjects.

What if we are not able to register before this deadline?

• If the child has not completed 14 years, then you will not be able to register. But, the NIOS option does not disappear.
• The student can still register in the next block for the Oct /Nov 2027 exams.
• The main thing to remember is that students will not be able to start taking exams till that first public exam block is done.
• But a student can still start studying if the family has decided to go for this option.

How long is registration valid?

• NIOS registration is valid for five years.
• During the first 4 years, the student can complete subjects; reappear; improve marks where allowed; and add eligible subjects.

Regular exam : 300 per subject for regular, 450 for additional vocational

On demand exam : 500 per subject for regular, 700 for additional vocational
