What is Walnut Sparks?
Walnut Sparks is an exciting new enrichment programme for Baby Walnut students, starting June 2027.
It offers an additional 2½ hours of guided learning, exploration and play every school day, building on the strong foundations of our regular kindergarten programme.
The programme is optional and complimentary, with no additional school fee.
Our goal is simple: to give children more opportunities to practise what they learn, explore new activities, develop important skills and become confident, independent learners — all while enjoying their time at school!
What Happens in Walnut Sparks?
🗣 CHATTER — Little Voices. Big Confidence!
Chatter builds on our regular READ programme.
Children receive additional individual reading practice and participate in speaking activities such as Show & Tell, Picture Talk, storytelling with props and role play.
These activities help develop reading fluency, vocabulary, communication skills and the confidence to express themselves.
🌟 TINKER — Little Hands. Brilliant Minds!
Tinker builds on our regular WRITE programme.
Children begin with a little writing revision and practice, followed by enjoyable activities such as colouring, mazes, puzzles, board games and construction challenges.
These help develop fine-motor coordination, numeracy, logical thinking, concentration, creativity and problem-solving skills.
📖 WONDER — Wonderful Stories. Curious Minds!
Wonder builds on our regular LEARN programme.
Children revise important concepts through brief, engaging activities and enjoy storytelling sessions filled with interesting characters and imagination.
This helps strengthen vocabulary, listening skills, comprehension, memory and curiosity.
🎨 Another Activity Every Day!
Children enjoy an additional co-curricular activity, different from the one attended during the regular programme.
This means more opportunities for outdoor activities, art, theatre, computers, hands-on learning and speaking.
🧁 Another Recess!
Walnut Sparks includes a separate recess for children to eat, relax and enjoy time with friends.
Parents should send an additional tiffin for this break.
At Shivane and Wakad, interested families will also have the option of arranging meals through an external catering vendor. Vendor details and applicable charges will be shared separately.

We understand that managing school, work and childcare arrangements can be challenging.
Walnut Sparks allows children to spend a larger part of their day in the familiar, nurturing Baby Walnut environment, learning and playing with friends under the guidance of trained educators.
For working parents, this can mean fewer hours of additional childcare to arrange, and potentially less time required at daycare.
More meaningful time at school. Greater convenience for families.
Timings and Exit Options
The regular Baby Walnut kindergarten programme continues as usual.
Parents can choose between:
Regular Exit: Children leave after the regular Baby Walnut programme.
Extended Exit: Children stay for the optional Walnut Sparks programme.
Fees
Walnut Sparks is complimentary for Baby Walnut families. There is no additional school fee.
Optional services, such as catering and transport, are subject to separate arrangements and applicable charges.
How Do Parents Opt In?
For the 2027–28 academic year, we will share a preference form in February 2027.
Parents will be asked to select their child's preferred exit timing by the end of February.
The selected exit timing will remain fixed for at least one academic unit to allow proper planning of staffing, activities and dispersal.
Any subsequent change will require advance confirmation from the school. Parents using school-coordinated transport will also need clearance from the transport coordinator before a change can take effect.
